Sarah's Summer Update

I am sure all of you stay up late at night wondering "Gee, what is Sarah doing this summer?" Well wonder no more. Here is little peak at my life this summer.
  • Work- I am currently working two jobs this summer trying to save money for graduate school next fall. My first job is a summer school teacher at Willow Creek Academy in Provo. I teach M-F 3:30 to 6:30. It is interesting, we do 2 week session where the students come to my class all 3 hours each day. Out of the 10 days of class we are on site 4 days, doing community service 2 days, and going on field trips 4 days. It is a lot of working and can be tiring at times but over all it is good.
  • Job #2- Due to the high levels of mental stress teaching can cause I decided to get a mindless grunt job for the mornings. Luckily a BYU professor needed some students to take his collection of dead fish, their stomaches embryos and prepare them to be put in the Bean Life Science Museum. So basically I fix up the vials of fish parts, make labels for them, and verify the information is correct. I really enjoy the job, but I am not quite sure what that says about me. There is a chance that once the fish are ready I can start working more with the data and helping with publications or the evaluating or the current study abroad program the professor and his grad students run.
  • Education Publications- Once a week I meet with my graduate professor and some of the other students in my program to hep each other get papers ready for publications. I am in charge of finishing/fixing up a paper we began writing for a class last fall. It helping me ease back into the swing of college, but it also reminds me how rusty I am after 2 years out of school.
  • Movies- My favorite time for movies is summer and Christmas. This summer we have seen Indiana Jones, Prince Caspian, Iron Man and Kung Fu Panda. I liked them all but my favorite was Iron Man. I am anxiously awaiting the opening of Hell Boy 2, WALL E and The Dark Knight. Those are my main desires for July.
  • Getting in Shape- Casey and I recently joined 24 hour fitness (I get a sweet discount through Willow Creek) and we are trying to go at least 4-5 times a week.
That about wraps up my summer life. Please don't feel bad about your life knowing how exciting mine is.

Neville's new hairdo

Neville got himself a new haircut for summer! Notice his ears are about 25% of their hairy size! We think he'll stay a lot cooler this summer. Last summer we'd take him for a walk around the block and when we'd come in he'd plop down on the linoleum and pant for a half an hour or so.

Neville's power source revealed!

Further photographic proof, using our super photo filter detectors, show that Neville is indeed a time traveler and that his jack appears to be the source of his powers. Whether his jack is some technological miracle or a magic prism has yet to be determined.

It is also believed to be the source of his boundless energy and spaziness.

Neville can time travel or he's immortal

Here's is photographic proof that Neville can either time travel or is immortal. Look at the age of this photograph and that he's even holding his jack!

A new post, are you shocked and amazed????

Hey everyone! I wanted to update everyone that still reads this blog (which is probably no one since it has been so long). Here is a list of what has happened in our lives since Christmas:

1. Dec/Jan: My sister Katie got engaged on Christmas Eve so we got to see lots of my parents as they came out to Utah twice to help with Katie's wedding stuff. We always love to have them come so it was great. Neville loves my parents more than he loves us and he mopes around for days after they leave. On their last visit they gave Neville a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey which he looks super cute in. Yesterday when we went to take his picture he was kind of mopey but he is still cute.

2. March: Casey's dad underwent deep brain stimulation surgery for his Parkinson's disease. It was a two part surgery and Casey and his brothers went out in shifts to help. Casey and Chris went out together and helped after the second surgery. It was great that he got to see his parents again but I was pretty jealous I didn't get to go. We got an update from Cheryl about a week ago. The electrodes in Jim's brain were finally connected to the battery in his chest and it was a success. Casey and I are working on a plan to go and see the "Old Jim" as the family calls him, but it will be the "New Jim" too me so I can't wait!

3. April: Casey and I went with Katie and Brad to Brad's family's cabin in Wyoming. It was sooo fun and Casey and I got to go snowmobiling for the first time ever! If you ever see me in person ask me to tell the story of Katie's fall. Anyone who knows me knows that when I think a story is really funny I laugh till I cry when telling it, this is one of those stories. Katie was ok so I don't have to feel bad about laughing.

4. April: My Birthday! I turned 25 and while it is not that much older than 24 it kind of freaked me out. I got really great presents from everyone including being able to hang out with my parents the week after.

5. May: Katie's Wedding!!! The wedding was great and everyone had a fun time. I got to see all my family except Jo who was on modified bed rest. We flew out to Pittsburgh Wed night on a red eye then drove to NY. Friday we drove back to Pitt and then Sunday we flew back to Salt Lake. It was a lot of travel but well worth it.

6. May: Jo had her baby!!!!! My sister had her second baby last week. She was induced on Thursday due to high blood pressure but the baby was born at 8 pounds so I think she was probably ready (at least Jo was!) Jo and John sent us lots of pics and I am posting them so I can brag.

7. Future plans: This summer we have high hopes of visiting family and relaxing. Casey is still working at the Herald and I am ending my year at Mountain View High School. Over the summer I am going to tutor and teacher at Willow Creek a therapeutic high school. (the kids are in therapy during the day and go to school starting at 3:30pm) Rachel and her family are planning on coming out for the 4th of July and we were able to get tickets to see Miley Cyrus at Stadium of Fire for all the nieces! Big thanks to Aunt Meghan who stood in line for 4-5 hours, she is the Aunt of the year. Finally we are still anxiously awaiting updates on Chris and Shauna's adoption journey. I am ready and willing to come and help Shauna/spoil the baby when it happens!

I think that is all the big news, I will try and update more often! Here is just a pic that I like.

Under Construction

This blog is currently under construction. I don't like our template and I am looking for a new one. Once we have a new template we will try and blog more often and I will have Casey post as well since he is a great deal funnier than I am. I would post a picture but we literally have not taken a photo since August.
